SUNJ's Lithium Thionyl Chloride (Li-SOCl₂) batteries are engineered to deliver dependable power for critical industrial and IoT applications. With a high nominal voltage of 3.6V and one of the highest energy densities among primary lithium batteries, Li-SOCl₂ chemistry ensures long-lasting, compact power. Its energy density is up to three times greater than that of standard alkaline batteries.
Our Li-SOCl₂ cells are designed in various formats, including bobbin-type for low current, long-life applications, and spiral-type or capacitor-enhanced hybrid versions for high pulse or continuous current requirements. Each cell features a lithium metal anode and a liquid thionyl chloride cathode within a stainless steel casing, filled with non-flammable electrolyte and sealed to meet IEC60086-4 safety standards.
SUNJ batteries operate effectively across an ultra-wide temperature range from -55°C to +85°C, with select models enduring up to +150°C. Thanks to their extremely low annual self-discharge rate (less than 1% at 25°C), these batteries offer storage and operational lifespans exceeding 10 years—and in some cases, up to 20 years.
Our cells are UL (MH45330), RoHS, and CE certified, and can be configured into custom battery packs with various terminals or protections according to client needs. They are ideal for use in utility metering, smart sensors, GPS tracking, real-time clocks, military-grade equipment, emergency transmitters, and more.
SUNJ's experience in Li-SOCl₂ battery development ensures we deliver tailored solutions that meet specific power and environmental demands. As a manufacturer with a global footprint and decades of expertise, we are committed to innovation, reliability, and exceptional product quality.
In addition to Li-SOCl₂ batteries, SUNJ Energy also offers Li-MnO₂ batteries, battery capacitors, and Li-SO₂ batteries. We provide tailored battery pack solutions based on your application needs—whether it's a single primary cell or a complex custom battery assembly, our technical team is ready to help you identify the optimal power configuration.
▎Note: Li-SOCl₂ batteries are primary (non-rechargeable) and must be stored in a cool, dry, ventilated area below 30°C. Avoid short-circuiting, direct soldering, or mixing with different battery types or brands.
